The opportunity

As our new Safety and Systems Engineer, you will work with a small but high performing and purposeful team who shape the development of ELSA’s systems safety program, managing safety engineering activities and services across all ELSA Projects and the Bids team.

This role will see you also involved in amongst other things:

  • System safety actions aligned with system safety standards including MIL-STD-882E
  • Taking a system safety approach to address hazards relevant to systems, products and equipment (hardware and software)
  • Delivery of safety artefacts to meet cost & schedule constraints of projects/bids
  • Developing a strong working relationship with the customer’s engineering team
  • Assisting with continuous improvement of the Safety Engineering framework.

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • Tertiary qualification(s) in Engineering or Science
  • A broad understanding of systems safety management across hardware, software and system integration development
  • An understanding of legal and contractual systems safety requirements
  • Current or the ability to obtain NV1 security clearance
  • Customer relationship management experience
  • The ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
