ELSA is continuing to expand and win new business in the Defence space, so we are looking for motivated, and enthusiastic software developers/engineers who want to quickly become valued team members of our expanding and busy Software Engineering team based. These new roles will be based in our Melbourne offices so ideally we are seeking candidates currently located in or looking to relocate to Melbourne.
We're about to embark on the next Phase of our Project with Defence, working very closely with them to release updated software for the Battle Management System (BMS) on various platforms so we will need exceptional software developers/engineers at who have significant demonstrated software development experience in the below technologies and have worked in an Agile/Scrum team (ideally), but of course you can learn as you go.
What you work on can save someone's life in the field so we are looking for someone who recognises the importance of the role they play in how our Defence Forces make command decisions.
To be successful in this career move you will also have:
- A relevant qualification or extensive hands-on commercial software development experience including work large scale, complex software projects.
- Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of object oriented design (OOD).
- Track record of rapidly learning and developing software within established proprietary frameworks.
Some commercial experience with the following programming languages / technologies:
- C# (.NET 4.5, WPF, WinForms) or Java (minimum 1.8)
- MSBuild, Gradle or Maven build automation experience.
- TDD, Distributed Systems, System Integration experience
Software development experience on mission / safety critical / distributed systems and a full stack development background while not essential are desirable.
Our technology stack is presently aligned to C# and .NET 4.6, however we will consider candidates confident in leveraging strong Java experience to C# / .NET.
